The Royal Street is a 5-bedroom buffet-lounge observation car built by Pullman in 1950 for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad. The car was part of an 8-car order between the L&N, Southern Railway, Atlanta & West Point Railroad, and New York Central System. When Amtrak was created by the federal government to take over passenger trains in May of 1971, The Royal Street was sold into private ownership. Now, thanks to Rock Island Rail, you can experience luxurious rail travel of past on a private charter to "The Big Easy" - New Orleans, Louisiana.
